Called Boston’s “Ambassadors of Harmony” (Boston Globe), the BCC presents over 50 performances on average per season in a wide range of public and private events across the city of Boston and on regional, domestic and international tours. These performances have included the nationally televised Boston Pops July 4th 2007 Celebration on the Esplanade, tours to Mexico, Japan, Chicago and Oregon, the inauguration of Governor Deval Patrick, and collaborations with nationally-renowned ensembles such as Boston Classical Orchestra, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Emmanuel Music, American Boychoir, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, Soweto Gospel Choir, Chicago Children’s Choir, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, singing the National Anthem for opening home games of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, performances for royalty such as HRM Princess Caroline and HM King Abdullah II of Jordan plus appearances at local shelters, senior housing and religious institutions. We have appeared on local and national television and radio broadcasts, including WABC’s Good Morning America, WBUR’s Here & Now, NPR’s Morning Edition and From The Top, and Urban Update on WBZ-TV.

We are proud that BCC’s signature event, the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert, televised live on WCVB-TV Channel 5 (ABC) the past several years, was syndicated and broadcast nationally for the first time in 2009 to more than 80% of the media market (an estimated five million viewers). This concert is becoming New England’s – and the nation’s – tradition for celebrating the legacy of Dr. King on his national holiday.

Past MLK concerts have included guests such as Academy-award winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr.; Good Morning America News Anchor Robin Roberts; ABC News Correspondent Deborah Roberts; the acclaimed Chicago Children’s Choir and the Young People’s Chorus of New York City; Owen Young, cellist and Ann Hobson Pilot, harpist, of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; renowned composers Jim Papoulis, Trevor Westin, Rollo Dilworth and Julius Williams. Past distinguished attendees have included Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Senator Edward Kennedy, Superintendent of the Boston Public Schools Carol R. Johnson and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
