Edith Mora Hernandez, conductor, pianist, and singer, is currently a M.M.’25 candidate in Choral Conducting at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Previously, she served as the artistic director of the Opera Guanajuato choir in Mexico, which, under her leadership, became the principal chorus for the Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, where she was chorus master and assistant conductor for choral-orchestral works like: Shostakovich early symphonies, Mahler’s 8th Symphony and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
Mora was as a lecturer at the 2022 MASSACDA Summer Conference in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is a recipient of a scholarship from Mexico’s Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencias y Tecnologías, which supports professionals in the arts and culture for graduate studies abroad.
In February 2024, Edith made her debut as an orchestral conductor with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Boca del Río in Veracruz, Mexico. In 2024 She served as assistant conductor for the Don Giovanni production at the international festival Palermo Classica in Italy. In the Boston area, she was an assistant chorus master for the Boston Lyric Opera Production of Aida in collaboration with the Boston Lyric Opera and Back Bay Chorale. Edith holds a bachelor’s degree in Choral Conducting by the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Mexico.
