Travis Benoit

Travis Benoit, from Worcester, Massachusetts is young conductor with years of experience performing in academic, professional, and church settings. Benoit is not only an emerging conductor but he is also an accomplished singer who has made strides as a professional tenor soloist and chorister. Some notable past performances were Handel Messiah solos with Music Worcester, and Pilot in Arvo Pärt’s Passio at Trinity University. He obtains a Master’s degree in Classical Vocal Performance from The Manhattan School of Music and will be entering Boston University this fall in pursuit of an advanced degree in Choral Conducting. This past summer Benoit was a conducting fellow at Princeton University and sang a recital of Die Schöne Müllerin in Bar Harbor, Maine. Not only has Benoit had a diverse performing career but he also teaches at The Phillips Academy in Andover Massachusetts and at The Hanover Conservatory in Worcester, Massachusetts.This September, he will be leading The BU Choral Society as student conductor.
When he is not found in the practice room or on the stage Benoit can be found backpacking, watching the Red Sox, Skiing, or spending time with family and friends.
